Recovering items from your grave

Planned feature

Recover belongings after an unprotected death. Grave coordinates stay private.

Recover after an ordinary death

An ordinary unprotected death creates a recoverable grave accessible to its owner and an explicitly trusted helper. The initial expiry is 7 days from an absolute deadline; logout and downtime do not pause it. There is no public death-coordinate feed. Exact grave command and helper interface are not yet specified.

Learned magic and character progression are not turned into dropped items. Unprotected carried vanilla XP follows the normal configured death behavior initially; that is separate from playtime points and allocated stats.

Check whether protection handled it

One fully armed casting-earned charge instead keeps carried inventory, armor, offhand and XP. Those same items must not also enter a grave or drops. A partially filled meter does not protect a death, but its partial progress is retained by the launch default. Friendly accepted duels consume neither belongings nor a protection charge.

If something is missing

The intended recovery path keeps a record for failed deaths and graves rather than restoring an old inventory over newer legitimate progress. A grave expiry can be extended only through an explicit recovery action, not a promise that every logout freezes it.

A recovery contact and player commands have not been confirmed yet. Recovery should return your rightful belongings without duplicating them in a grave or replacing newer progress with an older save.
