Choosing and living with an Animagus form
Planned feature
Choose one personal form, with useful limits and a difficult later change.
Learning and changing your form
The Animagus capstone requires learned Vestiforma and Reparo, personal study and a transformation ritual with Moonbell, binding and control preparation. The exact study and ritual quantities/arrangement remain incomplete. You choose cat, wolf or fox; it is not randomly assigned or granted by buying a transformed item. Only one learned form is held at a time.
A difficult change ritual must also exist at launch, using the same core learned prerequisites plus an additional rare stabilizer and explicit confirmation of old/new identity. Its full recipe is still unspecified. Recollection changes stat allocation, not your form.
Three forms and their uses
These are the planned form abilities. Do not assume a smaller hitbox, flight or special camera access.
| Form | Useful behavior |
|---|---|
| Cat | Negates fall damage for falls up to 6 blocks; normal damage beyond that |
| Wolf | Deliberate scent pulse toward nearest eligible hostile within 16 blocks for 3 seconds; 20-second cooldown; not players or through-wall outlines |
| Fox | +10% grounded sprint speed outside combat; no extra jump or collision bypass |
You are still the same player
Transformation has a 15-second cooldown. Form utilities cease on reversion. You cannot cast, craft, use containers or machines, or swap equipment in animal form. There is no flying form, one-block-gap promise, health refill or combat reset. Inventory and armor remain yours; reversion must not restore an old inventory over legitimate changes.
Damage and combat flags persist across forms, logout and reversion. Health is mapped safely without healing. Reversion needs safe standing space; unsafe reversion must refuse with a clear reason or use a qualified safe recovery position. Shared spell/effect cooldowns do not reset.
